The Child Did What? Normative and Non-Normative Sexual Behavior in Children Part I

Part one of the training will provide information about developmentally normative sexual behavior as well as warning signs of more problematic sexual behavior.  The second part will focus on general ideas for gathering more information about sexual behaviors and the appropriate routes of intervention will be discussed.  The training will address how to conceptualize issues regarding sexual and gender identity within a framework of normative and on-normative sexual behavior.  No discussion of sexual behavior would be complete without a discussion about sexting.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will identify and differentiate normative from problematic sexual behavior in children.
  • Participants will conceptualize different factors that create vulnerability for problematic sexual behavior.
