Forensic Interviewer & Trainer with First Witness Child Advocacy Center
Jackie’s career at First Witness began in communications, event planning, and donor development. As First Witness continued to grow, she became a forensic interviewer who is trained in ChildFirst© Forensic Interviewing Protocol, and is now a member of our training faculty. With such a variety of experience at First Witness, it only makes sense that her past professional experience and education are also diverse.
After serving as a correctional officer with the State of Minnesota for 10 years, Jackie began a new career in community organizing, public policy, and served as staff on multiple political campaigns. She has worked with victims of domestic violence, supervising visits between children and their non-custodial parents at the Duluth Family Visitation Center, and served as a member of the board of directors at Domestic Abuse Intervention Programs.
Jackie has a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the College of St. Scholastica where she earned two awards for excellence in research writing as a McNair Scholar, and has completed her coursework for her Masters in Advocacy and Political Leadership through the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She says, “I’m grateful for the many ways First Witness serves kids and families in our community. Every child deserves to be safe so they can grow and thrive. I feel fortunate to work with a team of dedicated professionals with a shared vision of ending child abuse, and a passion for helping kids and their families find healing and justice.”
