Supervisor Child Protection Initial Intervention Unit
Lisa Salo obtained a Masters in Counseling in 1998 and has over 25 years of experienced providing services to children and families in crisis. Lisa’s work experience includes 6 years as a children’s advocate at a Domestic Violence shelter, several years as a school counselor, followed by 10 years as Director of Resources at First Witness Child Advocacy Center. In 2010 Lisa left First Witness to work in child protection in northern St. Louis County. She began doing assessments and investigations in the Initial Intervention unit and also served as a Safety Planner and facilitated Family Group Decision making. In 2013 Lisa transferred to the Indian Child Welfare (ICWA) Ongoing Child Protection Unit and ICWA Initial Intervention unit both in southern St. Louis County. Lisa now supervises a child protection initial intervention unit in south St. Louis County. Lisa has been passionately committed to providing children and families the best possibly outcome in very difficult situations and is grateful to have had the opportunity over the years to work within a community that shares this same passion and commitment.
