Char joined Minnesota Department of Human Services in June 2017 to redesign and coordinate the statewide Parent Support Outreach Program (PSOP). Char has her master’s degree in clinical social work, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by the MN Board of Social Work and has certificates in infant mental health and permanency and adoption.

She has 14 years of experience working in the child welfare system including direct work in PSOP, child protection and adoption, therapeutic foster care support, Family Group Decision Making, training foster parents on caring for children who have experienced trauma, and working as a Guardian ad Litem.
